Gail Bird Vestments, founded by Gail Bird in Dodge City, Kansas in 1975, has been operating from Denver, Colorado since 1981. As an exceptional artist and seamstress, Gail has provided clergypersons and sanctuaries, both nationally and internationally, with beautifully crafted religious products. She, along with her talented and dedicated seamstresses in Denver, has hand-produced a wide array of stoles, chasubles, scapulars, and paraments embroidered with her original ecumenical designs.
As of 1 July 2004, the ownership of Gail Bird Vestments was transferred to Gail's cousin, Kent Flury of Charlottesville, Virginia. With her custom jobs, paraments, designing, and consulting, Gail and her artistry are still an integral part of the business. Based on a tradition of fifteen years' representation in stores and twelve years' inclusion in the catalog, Gail Bird Vestments is pleased to maintain and further the special association with Cokesbury.
In February 2005, we were pleased to be accepted as a member of the Catholic retailers group, the National Church Goods Association (NCGA). We are proud to say that a number of the NCGA retailers are now carrying our products.
